Read, how to update your existing BIGACE installation from Version 2.0 to BIGACE 2.1.

The Update is only supported from the latest available stable release: 2.0.

ATTENTION

PLEASE NOTE: If you do not execute the Update in the named order (see below), your System might be crashed.

The most important advise must NOT be forgotten: >> MAKE A FULL BACKUP OF FILESYSTEM AND DATABASE <<

Download and Install

Download the bigace_2.1.zip Archive with ALL sources for the Version 2.1.

The ZIP contains the following file structure:

• bigace_install_2.1.zip
• install_bigace.php
• README

Copy these files to your Web Host into the BIGACE Root Directory.

Step by Step Update

1. BACKUP THE FOLLOWING FILES*:
   • /system/config/consumer.ini
   • /system/config/config.system.php
2. COPY THE FILES bigace_install_2.1.zip AND install_bigace.php
   
3. OPEN THE SCRIPT install_bigace.php IN YOUR BROWSER AND EXTRACT THE FILES BY HITTING THE BUTTON
   • If anything didn't work (problem with file rights, could not delete ...):
     Fix it and simply reload the page
4. RE-INSERT THE BACKUP FILES FROM (1)* INTO YOUR NEW SYSTEM
5. OPEN THE SCRIPT upgrade.php AND EXECUTE THE UPDATE
6. RESTART YOUR BROWSER AND OPEN YOUR WEBSITE
7. EXECUTE THE UPDATE UpdateConsumerFiles FOR EACH(!) INSTALLED COMMUNITY

Modules

All installed Modules need to be updated manually!
Call their Update, otherwise they might be broken or only work partially, new features might be missing...

If you do not have the latest version of the Module (compatible with 2.0), look-out for a download at Sourceforge.

BIGACE is shipped with the newest versions of the following Modules:

• guestbook
• iframe
• photoalbum
• sitemap
• sitemap2
• submenuPreview
• UpdateConsumerFiles
