Read, how to update your existing BIGACE installation from Version 2.1 to BIGACE 2.2.
The Update is only supported from the latest available stable release: 2.1.
ATTENTION
PLEASE NOTE: If you do not execute the Update in the named order (see below), your System might be crashed.
The most important advise must NOT be forgotten: >> MAKE A FULL BACKUP OF FILESYSTEM AND DATABASE <<
Download and Install
Download both, the bigace_2.2.zip and the bigace_update_2.1-2.2.zip Archives.
The bigace_2.2.zip File contains the following files:
- bigace_install_2.2.zip
- install_bigace.php
- README (not required for the Upgrade)
The bigace_update_2.1-2.2.zip File contains the file:
- upgrade.php
Copy these files into your Servers BIGACE Directory.
Step by Step Update
- BACKUP THE FOLLOWING FILES*:
- /system/config/consumer.ini
- /system/config/config.system.php
- COPY THE FILES bigace_install_2.2.zip, install_bigace.php and upgrade.php.
- OPEN THE SCRIPT install_bigace.php IN YOUR BROWSER AND EXTRACT THE FILES BY HITTING THE BUTTON
- If anything didn't work (problem with file rights, could not delete ...): Fix the problem and reload the page
- After extraction, cancel the installation process.
- OR: YOU CAN ALSO EXTRACT THE ZIP AND COPY ALL FILES ABOVE THE EXISTING SYSTEM
- OPEN THE SCRIPT install_bigace.php IN YOUR BROWSER AND EXTRACT THE FILES BY HITTING THE BUTTON
- RE-INSERT THE BACKUP FILES FROM (1)* INTO YOUR NEW SYSTEM
- OPEN THE SCRIPT upgrade.php AND EXECUTE THE UPDATE
- OPEN YOUR WEBSITE
- INSTALL AND EXECUTE THE UPDATE UpdateConsumerFiles FOR EACH(!) INSTALLED COMMUNITY
Modules
All installed Modules need to be updated manually!
Call their Update, otherwise they might be broken or only work partially, new features might be missing...
If you do not have the latest version of the Module (compatible with 2.2), look-out for a download at Sourceforge.
